Inside the 9th Annual Castle Connolly Awards Dinner
The Ninth Annual Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. National Physician of the Year Awards took place at The Pierre Hotel in New York City on Monday, Mar 31st. Always a worthy cause, the awards dinner recognized and honored five exemplary physicians, as well as the many thousands of other excellent physicians practicing in communities throughout the United States.

The evening began with a cocktail reception at6:30 pmfollowed by dinner and the awards presentation. Among the many elite docotrs we spoke with the renown Dr. Oz. We asked how he felt about being a recipient of theNational Health Leadership Award, he shared, "Well I'm surprised to get the award, I was really honored to get it with my wife. We spent a lot of our lives building Health Corp. which is a children's health education program. So it's not for the show or being a Heart Surgeon, it's for what I've done to try to get kids to look at their bodies differently."

The National Health Leadership Award is awarded to individuals for outstanding dedication and work with an organization that has served to heighten the awareness for the need for support and research on that specific cause.
Dr. Mehmet Oz, Host of The Dr. Oz Show, best-selling author and Co-Founder of HealthCorps and Lisa Oz, Host of The Lisa Oz Show, best-selling author and Co-Founder of HealthCorps received this year’s National Health Leadership Award.

There is nothing more luxurious than the perfect cocktail. Certainly everyone should drink responsibly and when out on the quest one can drink "fashionably" with the help of this little cocktail suggestion
· 1.3 oz. Bulleit Bourbon
· 1 oz. lemon juice
· .75 oz. simple syrup
· .25 oz. ginger syrup
· 3 mint sprigs (take off leaves, remove stems)
Preparation: Dry shake, pour into a highball glass, top with ice & swizzle, keeping the mint on the bottom and top with more crushed ice. Garnish with 3 dashes each of Angostura & Peychaud’s bitters, a mint sprig and candied ginger.
