Fashion Spotlight: Devorah Rose

Hello Everyone!

Devorah Rose in Jogo Portrait The first super sunny super HOT Saturday in the Hamptons was made a little HOTTER by the super svelte Social Life Magazine Editrix Devorah RoseDevorah, always a favorite at The Quest for "it", threw us for loop at the Launch of Jogo Beach Hamptons sponsored by Saturday at Day & Night and Social Life Magazine.

Those looking to snag copies of Social Life Magazine came up empty handed, but those looking for HOT bodies in the latest in swimwear luckily came upon Devorah RoseDevorah modeled several looks throughout the day, but it was the blue bikini (see photo at left) that caught our eye.  Devorah Rose was a svelte and sexy representation of Jog Beachwear's blended colors and textures with swimsuit symbolizing the breathtaking beaches of Puket in Thailand, and the Lankaway Island of Malayasia. We applaud the high quality craftmanship with innovative and chic design.

Thanks Devorah for a truly Fashionable eyeful so early on in the season.

Hamptons Weekend Report: Day & Night & Social Life Magazine Present Jogo Beach by Pooneh

                                                                 Hi!

Jogo Hamptons_Model Group Shot After two major viewings of her  Jogo by Pooneh beachwear, Designer Pooneh Mohazabbi (see photo at left center in white) brought it ALL out East, setting up an amazing trunk and runway show at Day & Night aka Pink Elephant South Hampton this past weekend.

The trunk show hosted by both Day & Night and Social Life Magazine meant several guests enjoyed brunch and lush cocktails. Reclined poolside attendees viewed both bikinis and one-pieces in a  multitude of colors on a select group of models who walked the pool deck in style.  Available for viewing and buying, were Jogo's latest color combos of beach wear, full length color block halter dresses and halter mini-dresses in sweet summer colors that included mint green and  pale pink.  We enjoyed the little giftbags in parting with mutli-colored uni-sex beaded bracelets, and blow up Jogo beach ball--nice touch!

Hamptons Weekend Report: Surviving the Downpour Thanks to Larry Z

                                                                 Hi!

Yes, Larry Z our dear friend of the Icon Group, who currently works with TV Personality Montel Williams and has also handled licensing agreements for mega-superstars Usher, Jessica Simpson, Tyra and others was a consummate host.

***HAMPTONS WEEKEND ALERT: Heading Out East?

Hi!

Social life Magazine Front For all of you heading out East and looking for the HOTTEST events, the ones on private estates*** we mean, NOT the exuberant good times to be found in various loungy nightclubs (wink wink), we mention in passing the Memorial Weekend happenings for 2009 in The Hamptons. There's a killer event for each day of the weekend beginning with the opening of Georgica in Wainscott on Friday.  We've heard the space is a restaurant by day, and a chic lounge by night, we've also heard that The Eldridge owner Matt Levine will be heading up Georgica's night time happenings -- sounds good to us.

Saturday, it's time for anyone who is well...ANYONE to head over to the Social Life Magazine Estate where again this summer Justin Mitchell and Social Life Magazine Editrix Devorah Rose celebrate their first summer cover with the ubiquitous blonde bombshell cum celeb DJ Alexandra Richards. The event is INVITE  only, and if you did not get a personal invite from the publication's newly crowned Contributing Editor Kristian Laliberte (as we did) or one of the events select promoters then...oh well!

On Sunday EXCLUSIVITY abounds with a super HOT Hamptons Magazine party which will celebrate cover girl  Anna Paquin, the internationally acclaimed actress.  This soiree, also invite only takes place at the Capri Hotel's latest sub venue Day & Night operated by the dapper twin brothers Daniel Koch and Derek Koch.  This event runs from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm ... wonder what EXACTLY will take place in that 4 hour time span?  Again it's INVITE ONLY ... are you confirmed?

Ciao for now!

***-two super PRIVATE estate events include one at the former supermodel turned real Housewives Kelly Killoren Bensimon's on Saturday as well as another at the home of Niche Media Holdings LLC CEO & Founder Jason Binn also on Sautrday.

FLASHBACK PHOTOS: Urban Zen Threadings by Artist Gretl Bauer

Hi!

Summertime is the finest time of the year, particularly when one is enjoying the simplicity of life in the picturesque waterside town of Sag Harbor. Oh how we miss those beautiful days, so much so that we look back to the sunny afternoon on August 30th when Urban Zen  hosted Threadings by Artist Gretl Bauer.  Fashion and art merged for a unique and memorable afternoon of white wine and consciousness raising.  Known for her use of thread and wood on paper, mylour and canvas, Ms. Bauer creates an art form uniquely her own--both subtle and forceful, austere and sensuous.  The small chards and large fragments of wood which Bauer employ often take her work in a sculptural direction. Art and fashion were enjoyed by Designer Donna Karan, Gabby Karan de Felice and husband Gian Paolo de Felice and several others. To follow are select attendees that were privy to this the last Urban Zen event summer event of  Hampton's season for 2008.

Save Sag Harbor Benefit Featuring Alexa Ray Joel

                                        Hello!

Alexa_ray_joel_at_save_sag_harbor The final days of Hamptons summer events are never sweeter, particularly when events are given with great purpose.  Such was the case, this past Saturday with the charitable annual Save  Sag Harbor benefit.  The outdoor event held on the lawn of Sag Harbor's Whaling Museum was sight o behold as the sun set on the sprawling space.  The early moments of the evening yielded legendary singer Billy Joel and later Hamptons Socialite and  former supermodel Christie Brinkley both in attendance to support daughter Alexa Ray Joel,  as the singer-songwriter was set as the evening's headliner.

Attendees were able to wander through the grounds of the museum or venture inside to view artwork to be bidded on during the evening's silent auction.  Sperry tents sponsored by Donna Karan's newly opened Urban Zen store enjoyed both red and white wines supplied by the Wolfer Estate along with a wide selection of fine cheeses furnished by Cavianola's Cheese Shop. Sweets, for the sweet, included an assortment of fudge brownies and mini red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. While attendees enjoyed the refreshments the anticipation for live performance increased.

Shortly after the arrival of Ms. Brinkley, the crowds began to gather under the main tent to hear the smooth sounds of Alexa Ray Joel.  Introduced by her two younger brothers Jack and Sailor Lee, Alexa Ray Joel took the stage by storm thanking all who cam out in support this years and in the previous year. A natural on stage Ms. Joel sang a number of soft, elegant jazzy tunes well beyond her 23 years. The performance was followed by the silent auction, where bidders walked away with amazing pieces of artwork.

The evening's success was felt long after the night ended and supporters left knowing that their participation was lent to worthiest of causes.

***Save Sag Harbor was created in response to a "perfect storm" of real estate developments. Save Sag Harbor was founded in July of 2007 by a group of concerned citizens. The possibility of big box or national chain stores, water-front condominiums, and other issues all threaten to forever change the character and vitality of Sag Harbor.

HAMPTONS WEEKEND REPORT: The Mercedes Benz Polo Challenge Week 6-Polo Comes to an End ...

                                             Hi!

Star_jones_at_mercedes_benz_polo__2 Needless to say the show is over, at least for this summer.  How pleased we are with ourselves to have made it to, three of the six weeks of, the Mercedes Benz Polo Challenge.  In this Week 6, the final week, The Quest for "it"  witnessed perhaps the BEST clad crowd ever! Despite the bevy of spirits available both near and far (namely Hypnotiq this particular week) Coca Cola seemed to have been handed out at every turn. The highlight of Week 6?...the presence of the ODG Music Label and the HRS Princess Foundation, as well as the presentation of the MVP Player award by Westin Rinehart's Jaci Reid.  The live performance by HRS Princess featuring hip-hop artist Mekka Don was certainly worth its weight in gold.

Our initial attention was paid to the T-Mobile Sidekick Lounge where very "special" attendees pictures were being snapped in full glory including recurring Hamptons social Star Jones.  Recognizable to us, amongst the myriad of attendees, were Socialite/Model Brittny Gastineau, The Madison Co-Owner Andy Griggs (and family), Dune's Randy Scott, Montauk Yacht Club's Keith Battaglia, Icon Group's Larry Zarsky and wife Patricia Zarsky, and let's not forget our hosts Tamie Peters Thomas and husband Rich Thomas.

So many things were going on that the 4:00 pm -6:00 pm time slot carved out for the event went well beyond.  We enjoyed spotting  polo players Nacho Figuera and Neil Hirsch and other players that seemed to blend effortlessly into the crowd.  No time for visits to the Ralph Lauren or Piaget tents, or to get a bit of the Japanese delectables provided by "hipster" caterer Sen.  We do, however, want to mention the charitable aspect of the day which was the fact that all proceeds are to go to Children International and Darfur Now...what a day!

'Til next summer.....

HAMPTONS WEEKEND REPORT: A Day & Night with Larry Z and Patricia Zarsky

                                                                Hi!

Mercedes_benz_polochallenge_week_6_ As there is not much time left to the precious Summer of 2008, we were thrilled to spend this past weekend with the one and only Larry Zarsky***, affectionately known as Larry Z.  Our official day began with a pickup in East Hampton, and a ride to Two Tree Farms, Bridgehampton for the final week of the Mercedes Benz Polo Challenge. Larry Z & wife Patricia Zarsky (see photo at left) were of course VIPS, and we were on the press list.  A quick visit to the T-Mobile Sidekick Lounge   meant a bit of picture taking of the ladies, courtesy of PMC, and a few minutes speaking to DJ Nick Cohen under the tent.  Soon after we charted out our course through the maze of attendees, we spent much of our time with Larry Z's friend, film Producer Greg O'Connor of Solaris Entertainment; this was a pretty BIG DEAL.  Larry Z and partner Bob Levin via Bola Productions is working with Mr. O'Connor on several exciting movie projects.

Mercedes_benz_polochallenge_week__3 Later we met up with several important people (nothing but at this Week 6 of the matches).  Marvel Comics President Paul Gitter was there, as was Greek Business Tycoon Michael Zacharias.  Yes, Larry Z's Icon Partners is in negotiations with Paul Gitter and Marvel to represent some of their properties--is there ANYONE Larry Z did not know? Apparently not!  We even met up with Caribbean Artist Jeffery Dread who was also there taking in the matches. We soaked up the final moments of polo for the summer, circulating the grounds and speaking with friends. As the sun set, and things winded down, the usual 6:00 pm end extended well beyond that. Those that remained were treated to a performance by the late 80's Brit Songstress HRS Princess who sang her former hit Say I'm Your Number One.

Save_the_eggs_hope_uncorked_wine__2 Following the matches it was off to an artist reception in East Hampton, at our invite. Larry Z and Patricia, our gracious hosts, whisked us away to view the large scale works of artist Justin Love.  Immediately following was dinner at the rustic Italian restaurant Sam's, just a few doors down from the reception. Upon entry we ran into actors Marina McCreery and Howard Parke.  Short on time, we were served warmly and quickly due to the fact that Larry Z and Patricia are Sam's regulars.  After a large Caesar salad and pizza with virtually everything on it, the night was complete-- well almost.

The final stop was Save the Eggs Hope Uncorked in Save_the_eggs_hope_uncorked_wine__3 Southampton which meant a 20 minute ride west on one of the most popular night's of the week. There we met still more friends who invited us to a private party where 70's soul band Earth, Wind, & Fire was performing, a party that EVERYONE and their bother  seemed to know about, as well as to Kobe Beach Club--one of this summer's HOTTEST East Hampton destinations--never did get the skinny on the event there.  Needless to say the evening ended at near midnight despite Larry Z's insistence on a few rounds of karaoke at Almondcello (formerly Almondito), another place where our hosts are regulars.  Our group was exhausted, so suffice to say our final destination was Larry Z's lovely East Hampton home  in the woods--a modern bi-level complete with pool and deck.  After a quick tour of the nautical inspired decor (expertly designed by Patricia) everyone retired to bed. The night REALLY was complete!
