                     Hey There!

Well as we in NYC are gearing up for Fashion Week there are many others who are not.  Normally I would wonder what those people are doing and mention what seems GOOD wherever else "it" may be happening.  Who has time for that this week? What is going on in Las Vegas, Miami, and Los Angeles will  just have to wait until I can get my agenda set here in New York.

I have just completed my version of the invite for the SNOW BUNNY Party I am co-hosting next week.  So as always...feel free to stop by the event.  I will be taking a small break from the many runway shows (luckily Wednesday will be a light day) to be able to assist in the worthy cause of raising money.  The money will go to the re-edit of Behind the Ladies Room Door...I have mentioned all of this in previous post but...why not reiterate? (Wednesday February 8th, 7:00pm @ PRESSURE)***

Fashion Week is but hours away, I am fast at work on revamping the site a little in honor of the occasion...so if you come in and start browsing or 'nosing' around or doing whatever,  you can expect to find new things.  No time to go into all of it, but for the 9 some odd days of Fashion Week the post will be primarily Fashion Editorial...so if you cannot take it then...dunno.  No, if you cannot take it read the side columns of lighter more fashion "dumb" news like what happens backstage, who  I saw at the shows, what parties I went to and the best part what...was in the gift bags!  Remember no chick's quest would be complete without detailing who I saw and who saw me...that's right that is the real trick of all of this.  "It" cannot go down unless one is seen...and seen in the right places, at the right events...looking good...so there you have it... shallow but TRUE.

So let's see how it all goes.  I will go to a Pre-Fashion Week show Thursday to view the work of Stanley Adams, a hot young designer I met at Lotus last year (see 2 for the Price of One, posted, 10/28/05).  This show should be really HOT...can't wait!

Where da Party Wasn't

Hey......

This is just a quick note on my party last night.  Quick because I have 1 more party that I am hosting coming next Tuesday...and I will be assisting Rocco with his own night this Thursday so as always time is of the essence.  However, there is no skirting the issue I am compelled to report on my Monday night party. Are you ready? I BOMBED. Can you believe it?...don't answer that.  How could this be? I was truly stunned and then not stunned at the same time.  Exactly how it happened I cannot even tell you because I really do not know.  I had everything set...the early arrival for set up, the incredibly generous supply of promotional items, a DJ with more Hip-Hop party experience then I 've seen in awhile...I was again cooking with gas...the funniest expression, so funny.  Anyway, there were RSVPs that I had personally confirmed Sunday night and there were verbal " I'll stop byes" on behalf of the DJ. 

We started at 10:00 and slowly the clock began to tick, 10:30 no one...except the two very nice, zoot-suited friends of the DJ...oh and my partner Pegs, a close friend and even my Aunt.  Now I am just sharing the details of who exactly was with me because...I am completely selfless in all of this..no need for sugar coating. By 11:00...no one...you're getting it right? by 11:15 (I think) a new acquaintance of mine named Troy*** strolled in...and he was given quite a welcome because I had become concerned.  By 11:30 another person...YIPPEEE...a friend of mine who heads up concierge in Mid-town West (undisclosed location).  So between the small group of everyone just named and the manager and the busboys there was not very much going on...can you tell? 

So what can I say? that is my quick note...in a nutshell...nothing like last week no partying crowd, no nothing...just lots of promotional items, slammin music and empty banquettes...what's a girl to do?...start working hard and fast on the other parties because I need to get paid and so do my DJ (s). 

Now...as of today...I have the brilliantly wonderful task of working on what hopefully will be much easier for me...my first official blog party.  The blog party is a bit more my forte...I mean...I think I can capture the right crowd. The music for this one will be of the Rock type. I am working on the listings, email invites, etc... today.  Outside of that...I am really still trying to stay "motivated" through all of these lil projects.  Again... as  always there is the gnawing question of should I go out?  is what's going on tonight important or can I afford to miss this...remember this gnawing concern (see "The" Opening of Stereo Nightclub, posted 10/27). Possibilities for this evening? There is a new Tuesday night party starting tonight smack in the middle of the Meat Packing District...some people affiliated with Ford Models but dunno if I need to be there.  There is a food tasting in West Chelsea and on and on...you get it.

What to do?...this is going to be a multi- post day I can feel it......

***-Troy is not a celebrity or anything but he could be he is a dynamic tall...like 6'3 tall, lean and lanky kid who is incredibly dapper and very, very cool.. He dances and models and everyhting else.

Well...its Sunday and Halloween is tomorrow. Can you believe it?...so many invites and I've been to nothing Halloween related.  I am thinking of stopping by the only one party I rsvp'd to... which is supposed to have a very special celebrity host***.  I am not even going into the details because I may not even go...but if I do I 'll post how it all went down...OK?

As I see it there's a lot going  on this week so today's my day to go ahead and get up to speed with all of the projects I have going.  For one I'll share that I am in the final stages of getting my sexy shots together.  The sexy photo I shared last week (Hollywood Here I Come, posted 10/23) has now been retouched.  I have another full body**** shot that is a black and white and then some others from my 09/11 shoot that all need to be printed on high gloss and whisked away to the proper people...any takers?  Seriously...if you or someone you know is looking for a shapely, well proportioned, vixen type woman of color with a good command of the English language then ...hook me up!...otherwise...Yipes... lots to do.

Outside of that...remember the events I told you were in the works?...well...need to get that squared off as well.  Since we are on the subject maybe you would like a lil heads up...I am back at the hosting again and the event I am throwing will be at Aram Sabet's--49 Grove.  The event is entitled Back to the Old School an Evening of Sophisticated Hip-Hop...so if this kind of thing interests you and you are around on Monday November 7th at 10pm make your way down to hang with me at my party.  Alright so can you feel it? can you feel it? the Fall rush ...my Fall rush...outside of this I am working on some other new stuff so it is all about how much I get done and in how quick of a time I can get my ass to A-List.

I can tell you one thing, as always, my friends and colleagues are all beating me there (beating me to the A-List) so I need to cover some serious ground over the next few weeks.  What am I talking about?...well... I just heard that a former almost co-collaborator of mine Merlin Bronques is covered in today's Sunday New York Times --Styles section.  WHAT?...yes another friend so to speak...what do I mean by that?...well, we almost worked together this past February/March but we couldn't quite get our project in sync...so it looks like he has flown the coop without me.  However, I must say... I ain't mad at him..he rocks and his amazing photo pin-up site of rock party antics is getting like 20,000 hits a day...not too shabby...so definitely check his work out at LastnightsParty.com.

Well that's it for now I really need to get going with my own work..but never fear...I'm coming A-List...I'm coming...

***-the celebrity host is Dennis Rodman..but uh... it seems Mr.Rodman is slated to host (2) Halloween parties Monday night...so I'd like to see how this goes down.

Hollywood Here I Come

Hey There,

There are some things that when completed you breathe easier...you breathe better than you've breathed in awhile because you've accomplished or completed something that you've needed to get done.  So that said, my shoot is over...YES!!! and I can begin the next steps in a long process of making sense of what I need.  In case you were wondering...I did get the sexy shots***...but what is sexy really?...dunno.  Unfortunately for me because this is well...the quest...I am forced to share my outcome.  What type of quest would this be if  ALL I did was prattle on about these lil excursions and not share the results?...this isn't fiction y'all. One project down and several more to go.  So below is a sample.

A- List or bust

Hello!

There are a few random things floating through my mind...alright...there are always a few random things floating through my mind.   I received the fashion  shots that I mentioned a few weeks back.  The shots are in my possession.  Dunno... but I am hoping that they will assist me in my forray into the world of "it".  If anyone cares you can take a peek by going to, Tia Walker Acting Resume...the shots in question are the latter (2).

So, alright I am  in complete need of representation... so, therefore I have no qualms about shameless plugs...  in fact I find that you cannot have any shame when you are in this type of pursuit.  I am working to be unstoppable.  You may not be aware of this but... "It" has been extremely difficult and slow in coming.  What's worse is the advice given to me recently has been that I should "think of this all as a game.   A game where I have nothing to lose and everything to gain." 

So... all I can say to that is-- "Dear Lord, let me shoot for A-List*** and see what the heavens bring!"
