                                                 Hello!

Guess what?  I won, I won!...well OK I never actually bet, wagered or whatever you call it but I did get 4 out of 6 of the major awards correct...so will my knowledge of film get me to the A-List...in say in 2007 or what? The most amazing thing is that Crash won best picture...DAMN!...now I am not feeling so clueless...as that is the only movie out of the nominated group I've seen.   I am sure you are thinking "I cannot believe that this post is about the films not the fashions".  Can I just tell you fashion is "important" but I am not about to give a rundown on who wore what down the red carpet...its just plain BORING.  I will say however that Hillary Swank looked really very stunning, as did Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, and Keira Knightley ...and that is all I am going to get into in regards to clothing.

Did anyone else out there watch? Jon Stewart did a good job...it seemed he was a bit more interesting than some of the past hosts, I think.  The real important stuff...the GOOD STUFF was the discussion of where people were going afterwards.  I picked up...from my careful Oscar Watch that two of the HOTTEST parties*** of the night would be the EXCLUSIVE bash at Prince's house and the Terrence Howard/Jamie Fox after party...not even sure where that one is.  See...do you see what you miss when you are not yet a SOMEBODY?

Gotta Run...I have some long range plans for my trip to Oscar in 2007.

                    Hey!

Well...this is just the type of event that is worthy of a countdown, as it is one of the biggest if not the BIGGEST A-List events of the year.  I am thinking...why did I wait so long this year to get into it?  In any event, I decided to really bone up on who is nominated etc...to get my picks in.  Honestly, I've only seen one movie that is nominated and that is Crash...so am I really even qualified to give any type of pick?  yes, yes...anybody that follows A-list events such as I do and checks out the buzz, the trailers, the news...should be able to have some type of say so ...right?  So I'm going to go with the following...

Can I just tell you that one of my favorite categories is Best Foreign Film...unfortunately, I haven't seen any this year sooo...I have no choice but to leave that alone.  So what can I say...I am like much of the country, I want to get my two cents in via giving my picks.  It could always be worse; I could be placing cold hard cash on these picks like they do in Vegas or something. 

WAIT! ...how much do wagering games of chance like that pay?...hmmmmm...

Well it's Saturday, and only a day before the Oscars, yes I'm a bit late in jumping on the bandwagon for the Oscars.  Dunno why...I have just been so consumed with my own interests and my own pursuits...that this A- List awards ceremony has not been uppermost in my mind.  However, even though I cannot be at the Oscars this year as a side-liner (see gearing up for Oscar, posted 03/01/06), I may as well share the bit that I am privy to.  As you know, I missed Sundance, however; I did know a lil something about not only the films there, but more importantly the hospitality suites.  Well...luckily I know a lil something about a particular hospitality suite out in LA in regards to the Oscars as well, and now for the sharing...

Here's The Deal

I thought nothing of this at first, but as I myself have been re-working beautifying myself for the upcoming shots I will be taking to submit to Maxim...this particular email called to me.  The email I received regarding this hospitality suite was from Sephora.  Long story short,  it mentioned the  premier A-List pre-party event of the Oscars as being held at the estate of brow guru Anastasia Soare.  Apparently, Ms. Soare is going to be coiffing celebs for the Oscars by way of doing their brows...the brows...an important attribute for sure.  The next alert I received regarding this pampering palace gave more info in detail, that not only are celebs getting their brows done, but they are also getting manicures and pedicures.  The entire beautification session goes on this weekend, and is in conjunction with Jaguar entitled the Jaguar Getaway, and will feature the  new 2007 Jaguar XK7.  Beyond this it gets better...so much better...not only  do the celebs get the services, but they will be cruising in driver equipped jaguars to Ms. Soare's estate.

WHAT?...I have got to make it to the A-List--soon...I can't stand missing all of this pampering.

Gearing Up for Oscar

                                           Hey!

It's March already, and as I have been so very busy focusing on several other interests I have completely neglected the upcoming Oscars.  It is impossible (if not crazy) to touch on every upcoming award ceremony, but if I see "it" in my future then I most certainly want to get in on this one somehow.  I am thinking...next year I am making it my goal to be a sideliner,*** until then I will just have to watch this whole thing from afar like the rest of the country.  I haven't kept up this year at all, but have turned to David Carr's Carpetbagger (a red carpet blog) for assistance, and basically I am still just not up on it all.  I may be looking at all of this from the shallow end of things, but I'd like to see if Hillary & Chad are going to walk down the red carpet together, or to see "who" is wearing "what" designer.  After these very vital points have been satisfied, I will be ready to enjoy the show like an attendee...assuming attendees truly enjoy the ceremony.

Over the next few days I'll do a little research on what I basically overlooked when watching the Golden Globes.**** Then I'll be able to look like I know lots...which is what  I find many people do who have not seen half of the movies nominated.  In the meantime, as an A-Lister in training, I'll cover all bases and watch the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night...they are supposedly the Oscars for the "cool kids"...need I say more?

***- sideliners  my lil term for those who are not really actors, but A-List people from other fields like Fashion, Media, TV, Music, Sports etc...that attend the Oscars  after parties.

****- Golden Globes, oh I just can never miss them...they have lots of actors from TV mixed in and everyone is so down to earth as they sit around their dining tables...who does not watch the Golden Globes?...DUH!
