MySpace + PayPal Want You to Donate...

The news broke recently that social networking behemoth MySpace and online payment system PayPal have teamed up and are offering donation widgets via the hottest young celebs in the Unites States. We're not kidding! The participating celebs are said to include Hayden Panetiere, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Hillary Duff and Vanessa Hudgens.  What exactly are donation widgets, and what will their function be in regards to these mostly underage group of entertainers? It's simple, the donation widget will allow contributions to be made to non-profit organizations.  The MySpace and PayPal deal ties the aforementioned stars to a contest that includes weekly prizes and 20,000 in cash; the widgets can be found on their respective MySpace pages.

The idea is to raise money and awareness by having friends and family contribute.  Actress Hayden Pantiere supports saving whales via the Whaleman Foundation.  Liba Rubenstein, Manager of Public Affairs for MySpace Impact indicates "our partnership with PayPal allows members of the MySpace global community to take action, and make a positive impact on the world around them. We're proud to work with PayPal to democratize philanthropy, and show the power of small donations to drive big results."

Paris Hilton Gives MySpace Community A Sneak Video Peak of Her New Clothing Line

Paris Hilton gave MySpace personal access to the Kitson launch of her new clothing line on Thursday, August 16th.  Hundreds of eager fans surrounded the boutique on Robertson to see Paris’ new line, but only MySpace members get a sneak peek from the heiress herself.  With a Flip camcorder, Paris filmed some of her favorite pieces from the collection and also styled fans during the launch event including four patients from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  A percentage of the proceeds from the launch will benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Tila Tequila Now Available on iTunes!

                                  Hello There!

Just in case you were wondering...WONDER no more!  My Space Goddess Tila Tequila, the most searched Chiquita on My Space, will now be available on iTunes.  OK, so you may be asking, "is this for REAL?"  Well actually yes, Tila Tequila is not just a pretty face, and she is not just one of my many My Space friends that I post about from time to time, she is an actual singer.  To be honest, I like her sound very much and being that I write very little about music this is a BIG DEAL, so remember you've been SCHOOLED.   Her iTunes single is entitled I  Love You and carries a parental advisory--I am guessing due to lyrics  similar to those from her other current songs-- Paralyze and Mary Jane, so remember you've been WARNED.

How did I come about all of this breaking info?  Well a few days ago I went into my My Space account and there was a bulletin from Tila to all of her My Space friends indicating that she was a bit nervous about the current release on itunes. Apparently, the New York Times Tech Section dated February 26th  wrote a lil piece suggesting that it is too early to tell if Tila's My Space friends will support her right on through to her itunes music.  Basically they were suggesting that she may not be as popular on iTunes as a musician, as she is an internet vixen on My Space.  I then left a comment for Tila letting her know as a fellow entrepreneurial chick, I whole heartedly support her efforts and wished her luck.

The New York Times? Tech Section? hey...that ain't too shabby.  I guess the lil saying next to the default photo on Tila's My Space page rings true..." I'm no girl next door, I'm the bitch down the street."  Tila! .... you go girl!!!

King Me!

                    Hey!

I wanted to start this very abridged week (in the US anyway) by sharing a lil event that will be going on this coming Friday.  For all that will be able-bodied (not hung over from turkey and all the 'fixins') and wanting to go out on the town in New York City, this is for you.  The Apple store may be worth checking out. WHAT?  Yes, the Fifth Avenue Apple store where the fabulous DJ/Producer King Britt will be spinning this coming Friday night at the Apple Store's Midnight Mix.***

Ironically, I ran into King Britt when I was snapping the shots from the Hotel Roger Williams post on Friday night.  He was actually standing on the hotel's Welcome Carpet with a friend.  I wasn't sure that it was him, but messaged the super talented DJ/Producer about my sighting of him via My Space.  King Britt then wrote me back confirming--"thats hilarious....i remember we moved outta your way....lol
love that hotel...."

Has anyone out there reading this ever seen the rooms at the Hotel Roger Williams? -- they are totally decked out and equipped with plasma screen TVs etc. etc. etc...HOT! not to sound cliche, but...I guess it's good to be The King!

***- Midnight Mix is an ongoing series of parties (electronic  related events) that have been taking place at the Apple stores here in Manhattan since the summer.  Every week incredible DJs spin mainly from the areas of electronica or some other type of hip/funky technologically daring musical genre.

Tila Tequila on Maxim UK

                     Hello!

Well now that the hamburger, hot dog, and apple pie eating holiday known as the 4th is over and done with, I truly need to buckle down my lil weight loss plan.  It was around this time last month when I vowed to lean up to fit into my future designer handouts...well its been a slow progression.  Flipping through a number of  publications for some sort of inspiration I came across none other than my My Space friend Tila Tequila, a chick who is as lean as they come.  The last bit of ...uh, inspiring work she did was on the cover of Stuff; this time around she was staring back at me from the cover of MAXIM...is there any justice!

OK,  well as a chick on the quest, I draw inspiration from a number of people, but when it comes to fitness motivation mens glossies are the way to go.  Why not? men fill their walls, or at least their TV screens with other men pumping iron...whatever works for you-- right?  So back to Tequila...her MAXIM cover is for the UK edition (August), and she is looking even more fit then she did on her April Stuff cover.  Funny,  I can't even hate on her...not only is she continuing to grace covers, but technically she is an entrepreneur of sorts.  As far as the UK edition,*** she is again credited with being the 'Queen of My Space.'  Queen...hmmm...Queen?  The British are so royale.  Queen? I like that!  Tia Walker--Queen Blogger...QUEEN B....I like that...I'm feeling good!  WAIT! isn't that title already being used? Lil Kim refers to herself as Queen B.
