New Yorkers For Children, one of New York City's most heralded children's charities, held it's bi-annual cocktail kick off in preparation of the upcoming gala --New year's in Aprils Fool's Fete-slated for April 10.  The event will took place from 6:00pm–8:00pm at BG Restaurant on the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman   Hosting the event are Allison Aston, Alina Cho, Selita Ebanks, Clare McKeon, and Lucy Sykes Rellie.   

Designer CD Greene dressed the evening hosts in his evening wear, Bergdorf Goodman exclusives.  What's new this Spring? NYFC Executive Director Susan Magazine shared "well for one things CD Greene is our presenting sponsor and he is just so wonderful and so supportive of the work that NYFC  does with young people in foster care.  It's a great opportunity for everyone to see the beautiful, beautiful clothes that he designs."

Attendees of the evening were a virtual who's who from the worlds of fashion and society: Bergdorf Goodman's Linda Fargo, Veronica Webb, Chris Del Gatto,Tinsley Mortimer, Prince Lorenzo Borghese, Alexis Bryan Morgan, James Reed Hague, Susan Burden et al. See select photos from the event follow.

Madame Paulette Fuses Charity and High Fashion- Window Showcases Famous Designers at New York City Boutique

While it may be "the season" for department stores’ over-the-top holiday windows, the Madame Paulette® windows have certainly held their own.  Local Upper East Side residents, fashionistas and passerbys are in awe about the beautiful gowns***on display through December.  John Mahdessian,**** President of Madame Paulette® Organization, has once again lent his services to charity. The company, known for its mastery of cleaning, has teamed up with One Frickin Day Model Behavior Auction on Charity Buzz.  In the windows of Madame Paulette® Flagship location in New York City’s chic Upper East Side, famous designers including Isaac Mizrahi, Ralph Lauren and Roberto Cavalli, donated dresses to be displayed in the windows of the famous couture cleaner. Each was donated on behalf of the runway diva who wore it.  Some models, like Karolina Kurková and Elettra Wiedemann donated dresses from their own personal collection.  The company, co-founded by model Elettra Wiedemann, brings solar power to clinics in underdeveloped countries around the world.

Over the years, President of Madame Paulette® Organization, Mr. Mahdessian has researched, experimented and pioneered processes and techniques that have set new standards for the entire industry worldwide, dedicated to the mastery of cleaning, restoration and preservation of textiles and apparel. Madame Paulette® has attracted major design houses and luxury retailers, high-profile celebrities and socialites – including Christian Dior and Chanel, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue, Anna Wintour and Kelly Ripa, and most recently, Marchesa as well as Alicia Keys and Chelsea Clinton, both of whom commissioned Madame Paulette® to clean and preserve their wedding dresses.

 ***-featured gowns include: a Louis Vuitton Dress, worn by Natalia Vodianova Fashion Week 2010 (donated by Natalia Vodianova), a Yigal Azrouël gown, worn by Jessica Stam at the 2009 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards (donated by Yigal Azrouël on behalf of Jessica Stam, and a Ralph Lauren dress, worn by Chanel Iman at the GQ Gentlemen’s Ball 2009 (donated by Ralph Lauren on behalf of Chanel Iman).

 ****-John was awarded the  the Spirit of New York Award at the American Liver Foundation’s 10^th  Anniversary Honors Gala  for his charitable efforts and dedication to the cause.  In addition, John and the Madame Paulette ® Organization professionally and meticulously cleaned the dresses exhibited (and later auctioned) for Swarovski Elements’ 22 Ways to Say Black, benefiting the American Cancer Society— John was also the winning bidder for one of the exclusive frocks. At the New Yorkers for Children Fall Gala, John led the Madame Paulette® team in donating cleaned and tailored suites for twenty different children who benefited from the organization’s wonderful work.

CLOTHING I'LL WEAR ONCE I ARRIVE @ THE "IT" LIFE:

Note to self: This is a reminder to begin scoping out the incredibly romantic side of dressing via Parasuco's new 15 piece capsule collection appropriately titled Mademoiselle Parasuco.  Designer Salvatore Parasuco (Parasuco Jeans) and Yso Siphay Southidara have created silk dresses, shirts and overcoats in the most appealing palettes of nudes, browns and neutral colors.

Note to self: Make sure I seasonally peruse the Alexandros Showroom on New York's famed 7th Avenue for hot looks in fur.  Fur is shaping up for Fall 2006 here are a few looks from the showroom's Ekso & Xander Collections (on opening day of Fur Fashion Week in New York).  These
are must haves for those bold enough for the real thing.

Ekso offers vintage inspired coats in sheered mink offering a sleek, un-furry look in an array of lengths and styles.

Xander is to die for offering Chekiang Lamb in ways I'd never imagined.  Cropped, belted pieces with leather detail.
