On Friday night, August 23rd, the enduring Village hipster shopping destination, Atrium NYC, (644 Broadway @ Bleecker Street) held an exclusive party in-store to celebrate the 20th anniversary and unveil a remodeled interior. Atrium also showcased the Fall '13 collection of fashion brand KTZworn by Rihanna, KanYe, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and more. Atrium NYC now carries the largest selection of KTZ product in the US. A frequent of both Atrium and KTZ, Rihanna attended the event and shopped the new collection.
The event also featured a performance by ASAP Ferg and appearances by other celebrities including artist / producer Ryan Leslie, Heron Preston of Nike & Been Trill, and Jennifer Anne Williams (wife of Matt Williams, creative director for KanYe West and Nick Knight).

Inaugural Balls abound in Washington DC and there were no shortage of celebs making the rounds in support of worthy causes during this inaugural year. The Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball II, a ball which celebrates the re-election of President Barack Obama, honored mega recording artist John Legend and hip-hop's latest burgeoning force 2 Chainz at Washington DC 's Harmon Center for the Arts. The Sunday, January 20th event gave lifetime achievement awards to MC Lyte and Doug E. Fresh. The event was sponsored by Philanthropik and Russell Simmon's Hip-Hop Summit Artist Network.
The red carpet welcomed celebs that included: Rosario Dawson, Wayne Brady, Lance Gross, Angela Simmons, Chrissy Teigen, LaLa Anthony, Terrence J, Marsha Ambrosius and more.

Tuesday night, Roscoe Dash andVibe Magazine started the holidays off right with the J.U.I.C.E holiday party at Goldbar in New York. The Music Line/Geffen recording artist celebrated the release of his debut EP, J.U.I.C.E (Just Understand I Control Everything), by performing his hit singles "Good Good Night" and "Siddity" to a packed house and collecting canned goods and toys for a local charity in Atlanta. J.U.I.C.E is in stores now and available on iTunes.

Music superstar Pharrell Williams’ group N.E.R.D. performed on Saturday at the House of Blues in New Orleans as theCoors Light Search for the Coldesthip hop competition came to a conclusion. The event took place during the Essence Music Festival. The show was opened by PyInfamous, who bested more than 3,000 MCs to take the “Coldest” title.

Russell Simmons sat with Chris Brown Tuesday night during the celebration dinner for the release of his new album, F.A.M.E. and blogged about the experience exclusively for hip pop news website,GlobalGrind.com.
Simmons told Brown that he “is suffering from the same thing as almost every young star has gone through, including the Disney kids.” Simmons also feels that he and other artists who have made mistakes should not be "paying the price of the sins in their young lives for the rest of their lives. 1 1/2 oz of Cynar
1 oz Old Forester bourbon
1/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz of grapefruit
1/4 demerara syrup
Shake, and then serve in a Collins glass over ice. Top with club soda and garnish with orange peel expressed over the top of the cocktail, and then inserted.
