It was quite a cozy New Year's Eve in Harlem, in a neighborhood filled with numerous viable options for the perfect New Year's Eve dinner. Those seeking a comfortable, well-designed, dim lit setting will understand why we chose Vinateria, located on Frederick Douglas at 120th St. Though it was just supposed to be for a few New Year's Eve cocktails a seat at the bar and occasional chit-chat, our fave bartender Tim and the lovely Ashley (a another bartender at Vinateria) kept us at the scene for quite awhile. It was a crisp night and after a glass of red wine set in. Not a thing from the regular menu was being offered, as it was New Year's Eve, so we opted to dine on the first seating NYE Dinner option right at the bar. 4 courses included: mizuna salad w/walnuts, gorgonzola and balsamic dressing;head-on prawns over grits; grilled lamb chops over caramelized carrots and polenta; and molten chocolate cake. We were out by 9:30--well in time to get on to our evening's festivities. Dinner was simply AMAZING...HAPPY NEW YEAR!
