THEIA Bridal Spring 2014 showed its runway collection on Friday, April 19th at New York International Bridal Week. The first Blush of romance combined with the majesty and opulence of Versailles inspired the THEIA White Collection for Spring 2014. This is a collection of porcelain whites and ivories, with accents of delicate blush hues.

The final show of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Wednesday, February 13th belonged to legendary couturier b Michael.  The designer, best known for his custom women's wear gowns that simply dazzle his constiuency, seemed to gain and even larger following this Fall 2013 season. b Michael who was inspired by beauty and the beauty of life brought both elegance and opulence to his biggest admirers and beyond.

VIP attendees seated front row included: Amsale Aberra, wedding gown designer, Lydia Carlston; philanthropist Kathryn Chenault, attorney, philanthropist and wife of American Express CEO Ken Chenault, Amy Fine Collins, Vanity Fair Contributing Editor and b Michael muse, Mikki Garth-Taylor, author and former beauty editor, Essence; Star Jones, attorney and TV personality; Tina Lundgren, philanthropist and wife of Macy’s CEO Terry J. FLASHBACK PHOTOS: Gemma Kahng Fall 2013

Hello!

New York based Designer Gemma Kahng gave the ultimate fashion presentation, at the Lower Eastside's swank GoldBar.  The Tattinger sponsored event took place, last Thursday night, the final day of New York Fashion Week. Her Fall 2013 collection, was inspired in part by Native Americans (hence the use of feathers) as well as old Hollywood glamour.  It doesn't get anymore goth than a bevy of lovely models adorned in lush black, navy, and yes a splash of white and red in makeup remniscent of a All Hallow's Eve party. Silk and wool as well as lamb are found in this group of vintage looking fall womenswear pieces. On small circular tables each model stood with forlorn expression, further enhanced by dramatic eyes and various versions of pulled back hair.

In attendance were select fashion cogniscenti, among them New York Times fashion writer Corbin Chamberlin. To follow are photos from the EXCLUSIVE showing.

Backstage @ Zang Toi Fall 2013

Backstage at Zang Toi Fall 2013 the models faces were flawless with skincare by Vbeaute and Zoya Nail Polish will complete the look.  Hair is by Rene Furterer and make up by BeautybyRudy.  Zang Toi Heels, the number 1 selling shoe collection in Malaysia features a mink-trimmed bootie this season. Anew Legwear features cashmere tights with mohair thigh highs--GRAND!

Anastasia a 20 year old model represented by Supreme is from the  Ukraine--a perfect selection fo Toi's Russian inspired collection. Anastasia walked the runway in Looks#7#18, #29. Look #7 Loro Piana cashmere glen plaid peacoat, Loro Piana cashmere glen plaid shorts, amber silk gazar blouse and bow matched w/ black cashmere tights and brown cotton velvet criss-cross stilettos and black leather gloves; Look #18 jet double faced wool crepe coat bordered w/ gold flake mahogany tweed and dress jet double faced wool crepe dress w/ gold flake mahogany tweed matched w/  and brown cotton velvet criss-cross stilettos and black leather gloves; Look #29 a jet silk velvet gown in guilded imperial garland and jet fox stole lined in guilded imperial garland matched w/ black sheer stockings, black silk velvet criss-cross stilettos,gold guilded imperial earrings and gold guilded imperial gloves.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013: B Michael

A triumphant return to the tents for b Michael, the American couturier and ready-to-wear designer whose eponymous label is among the most coveted by stylish and accomplished women around the world. b Michael presented his Fall 2013 b Michael America Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on the evening of Wednesday, February 13.  

The b Michael America Couture Collection for Fall/Winter 2013 is comprised of thirty-two opulent and modern looks, that the designer created to reflect “the most magnificent sense of self.” “Flirting with imagination and extravagant notions of style,” the Collection offers an array of textures ranging from silk satin and tapestry to chiffon and crocheted lace, with womanly silhouettes. The color palette is saturated with rich jewel tones and textured black.

  

Highlights of the collection include: a sapphire, silk-satin sheath; a black ribbon andtulle embroidered Spanish lace off-shoulder Cossack gown; a yellow-gold metallic silk wool boucle halter-cut dress; and a ruby and platinum silk/wool tapestry elongated trumpet gown. “This Collection was inspired by beauty and the beauty of life, as I imagined the women who would wear these dresses in the various scenarios that comprise their lives. This is unabashed elegance and opulence and I really wanted to celebrate women and embrace life to the fullest,” adds B Michael. More than 400 luminaries, industry leaders and members of the press attended the Show, befitting the designer whose collection debuted in 1999 and is known for clean lines, sophisticated use of color and flattering silhouettes.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013: Leather Japan

 

Leather Japan held a presentation for Fall/Winter 2013 season, showcasing eight emerging Japanese designers and their utilization of Japanese Leather. In addition to models, the New Wave/Punk band Turtle Island performed during the presentation wearing the designers' pieces. Expertly crafted accessories were displayed on the perimeter of the stage in innovative installations unique to each brand. The following eight brands that were showcased at the presentation: genten / blackmeans / ED ROBERT JUDSON / e.m. / Hender Scheme / INI / KENJI AMADANA / SASQUATCHfabrix.
