Holler if Ya Hear Meis most certainly "Broadway", thank you Kenny Leon. Polished and uplifting with a big budget feel, and anexceptional casteach scene is as exciting to watch as the next. The superior use ofthe late Hip-Hop legend Tupac Shakur' s best songs including "Keep Your Head Up", "I Get Around", "Dear Mama" and many, many more are powerful and energizing. One needn't need to know every song but it helps if you know many of them-- as it greatly puts the musical into context. The fictional story is a modern take on continuingly familar urban scenarios, that by and large address the common components of man vs. himself, man vs. society etc. in an exhilarating way. Friendship, love, change family and hope set amongst life in the streets says it all.
