Baker; Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo; and jewelry designer, philanthropist, and FIT trustee Joan Hornig at the annual gala on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.The black-tie event hosted more than 600 guests and raised $2.5 million -- $1.4 million in ticket sales, plus $1.1 million from two endowed scholarship gifts that were announced at the event. During his remarks, Baker announced a $1 million gift from his wife Patty and him. George Hornig surprised his wife, honoree Joan Hornig, by announcing a $100,000 scholarship in her name to be given to a Jewelry Design student who has demonstrated a commitment to giving back.

The 2014 Give Kids a Shot Gala, which took place on Monday, April 28th benefitting the National Meningitis Association was another successful evening in the land of charitable fundraisers in New York City. For the 4th year the gala was held at the New York Athletic Club and gathered a dedicated group of businessman, meningitis survivors and their supporters.

The 2014 UNFRAMED auction was organized by David Zwirner'sAles Ortuzar, and featured work by more than 50 leading artists, including Cecily Brown, KAWS, Jeff Elrod, Mark Flood, Adam McEwan, Ryan McGinley, Jack Pierson, Jordan Wolfson,Wolfgang Tillmans, and Francesco Vezzoli, to name just a few. And all of the works were donated by the artists and their galleries, so 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to the ACRIA Artists Ending AIDS Fund.
