The Blizzard of Fashion in 2010-Part I

Greetings socialites and celebs on the rise, my my I am so glad this thing called Fashion Week is over and I've clearly survived it !! My battle with the snow storm of 2010 is what I first had to overcome since my residence is in MD but my career is in NY. I came home for some reprieve and it snowed 30 inches when all was said and done I had to be back in NY and it snowed 20 here so that put a stop my first soiree which was sponsored by LIVE MECHANICS my good friend Mykel Smith who designed the production said it went down and from reports a lot of people made it out in the snow to support. Unfortunately, I didn't, nevertheless that did not stop me the next day. I made my way to Sabit NYC, who threw a nice little something something in NOHO, Owner Shiochi greeted me with open arms and big upped Mangeo Public Relations Group. HEYYY !  In any case the following day I had to attend the Couture Fashion Week shows taking place at The Waldorf Astoria with our latest client,Hip Rocker Tina Brown , Dwight Eubanks and Actor De Marco Majors 

Hip Rocker Recording Artist Tina Brown- her new single"Vodka & Tequila" is sure to be a smash. Also along for the fun was good friend Actor De Marco Majors, De'von Christopher ( Bleu Magazine) 2nd season cast member ANTM Camille who's a sweetie, Celebrity Make-Up Artist Luke Baker of Lecedul International House of Style and Dwight Eubanks ( Real Housewives of Atlanta ) who by the way was called in to rescue me from fashion disaster by helping me tie my bowtie complimentary of Nicholas Guidry aka Nickie Bowtie whose bowties are a standout in any crowd made by his company Robert J. Pradia pronounced ( prahdee - yay ). This company is on the rise with Celebrity Publicist BJ Coleman and Emil Wilbekin having already given thier seal of approval by rocking them at events around town. Back to the couture show at hand, the standouts were Edwing D'Angelo and Wahlid Atallah (who hails from Dubai). The workmanship and detail that both these designers put into their "art" was just simply amazing and an awesome to experience.Edwing D' Angelo

Wishing them MUCH success. We also were able to catch my boy makeup artist Blue Michael whose cosmetics company sponsored for the first time designer A.Z Arajaujo. I attended this event withBlue Micheal and model

Actor Ray Martell Moore (Finding Me and Finding Me : The Truth and Gossip Girl ),Tina Brown and Dwight Allen O ' Neal of web-series Christopher St. next Fashion Show? FASHION WEEK PARTY: Saks Fifth Avenue Celebrates the Launch of Jimmy Choo 24:7

Last night's stellar red carpet launch of Jimmy Choo 24:7 made for quite a celebration.  Steve Sadove, Saks Fifth Avenue Chairman & CEO and Glenda Bailey, Harper's Bazaar Editor-in-Chief welcomed Jimmy Choo Founder & President Tamara Mellon in style. 

The sprawling 8th floor locale complete with several pairs from the new 24:7 collection was abuzz with anticipation of several high profile celebs ALL sporting Jimmy Choo, of course.  Model turned celeb DJ Alexandra Richards manned the wheels of steel, as guests sipped on champagne and specialty cocktails catching eyefuls of bold faced names such as Actress Brooke Shields, Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr,  Model Caroline Winberg, Model Heidi Mount and others.

Jimmy Choo celebrates the launch of Choo 24:7, the ultimate shoe wardrobe featuring some of Tamara Mellon's favorite style updates in exciting new colors, materials and heel heights.  In addition, the collection includes an assortment of iconic Jimmy Choo styles, including some red carpet favorites.

Tiger Woods Confession...Allred Press Conference Later Today

                                                   Hi,

 While we pride ourselves in providing news you can use not celeb gossip, let's address the recent "new information" concerning billion dollar living legend golfer Tiger Woods. The recent confession of sorts made on his website, is now becoming less important with the addition of a taped phone call, presumably with Mr. Woods speaking to a new woman, named Jamie Grubbs, an attractive 24 year old Los Angeles cocktail waitress.  It seems that there is so much to the story that is yet to unfold, that it may be best to see how the saga plays out.  Reportedly, the "original woman" tied to Tiger Woods' car accident, former TAO VIP Hostess Rachel Uchitel, last week hired respected women's rights attorney Gloria Allred, who is set to hold a press conference this afternoon.  As per CNN, the press conference is scheduled for 2:30 pm Eastern Time/11:30 am Pacific Time , where Ms. Allred will formally address Ms. Uchitel's NON-INVOVLEMENT with Tiger Woods.

We hear that Designer Marc Jacobs and longtime companion Lorenzo Martone are FINALLY  set to tie the not. According to site Pop Crunch, Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone, Brazilian advertising executive, will get hitch this weekend  August 22 or 23, in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where a fellow worker of Jacobs, Robert Duffy, has a house. If you prefer READ about it in a foreign tongue

Gwen Stefani Goes for Baby Number 2!

Well, we are just suckers for happy couples, and while it is literally impossible to comment on every celeb near and far that are having babies, this one seemed, well...appropriate. Have you heard? Singer Gwen Stefani is pregnant with baby number 2. Apparently, Rocker husband, Gavin Rossdale's father confirmed Ms. Stefani's pregnancy for the press -- People, to be exact hours ago.  The couple's first bundle of joy, son Kingston, was born on May 26, 2006.

Time & time again we make the VERY NECESSARY statement that we are NOT a gossip blog,  strictly news you can use. We are OH SO CAREFUL in our reporting of celeb news, choosing quality over well... JUNK. However, it's definitely times like these where we smugly smile and pat ourselves on the back for not reporting on EVERYTHING under the sun.  We sadly report, or should we say happily (take your pick) that celeb couple du jour Comedic Actor Eddie Murphy and celeb (ex-wife of  Kenny BabyFace Edmonds) Tracey Edmonds will not be getting legally married as expected. In plain english, as so many of our sources are reporting, the wedding between the two is off!

The stunning picture at left from their recent spiritual ceremony on the island of Bora Bora will have to suffice. May it be ever emblazoned in our minds, and may the couple have a deep and meaningful "friendship"...we wish them the best!

The Swizz Beats & Full Surface Records Birthday Party for Mashonda

                                                          Hey There!

Well and so it goes, The Quest for "it" was privy to a very special birthday party the other night, given by hip-hop producer extraordinaire Swizz Beats (Full Surface) in honor of his lovely wife Mashonda (see photo at left). We swear we have ABSOLUTELY no idea how we came about the invite, however, we gladly accepted once we saw Swizz Beats was involved. That, and the fact that the invite had a HOT photo of the buxom beauty birthday girl  Mashonda, (yes, that was a mouthful) an R&B singer who is currently signed with Full Surface Records. When we found that Full Surface operates through SONY BMG we knew this was going to be BIG!

So upon our early arrival and personal escort by Event Producer Dante Simpson (DSA Media), we were whisked to the back section of the cozy little "icebox" of a lounge known as Retreat.  We snapped a few pics  (had a few pics snapped of us) then waited amongst an already near full house for the celebs to arrive. While we sat on a banquette adjacent to the VIP, crowds of birthday revelers stood and bopped to the sounds of the DJ, which went from good, to damn good to DAMN his sh*t is off the chain!  OK, so we find it hard to keep it clean when describing good music, but as these posts are rare we figured...why not? Anyway, we were FLOORED by the fact that only a select few seemed to be aware of the two girls dressed in black with pink ties around their necks serving NUVO Pink Sparkling Vodka Liqueur --um...let's just say we got OURS!

By 9:45 pm or so the heavyweights arrived  (we arrived at 8:30); we were booted to make room for some super curvy chick, and an unidentified player from the Carolina Panthers. At that point it was time to stand and good thing we did, as next to arrive was Baby Phat's  BJ Coleman with his new assistant Natalie.  Following  BJ & Co. was the very bohemian supermodel on the rise Chanel Iman in the company of an "equally bohemian" male friend. What comes next came fast--a HUGE entourage of guys stormed in making a beeline directly to the raised platform VIP.   It was Sheek of the LOX, but where was Mashonda? Every few minutes the DJ would announce who was in the building; Dante Simpson assured me Mashonda was right outside. Things were about to get good! Before we knew it  Mary J. Blige's latest smash hit  Just Fine was blaring. OK, so it BLARED TWICE before the very lovely Mashonda entered the building. Finally to the tune of the DJ Khaled remix of I'm So Hood came the birthday girl. Massive amounts of photographers surrounded her like bees to honey. Many (including yours truly) snapped shots of Mashonda against the brick exposed wall. When most simply wouldn't take "that's enough" for an answer, Swizz Beats stepped in and escorted his wife through the now AT CAPACITY crowd to the VIP section.

The robust, and that's putting it MILDLY, security guard selectively allowed entry to the VIP.  In the end, most were booted out the VIP, which appeared to comfortably hold 25 by our estimate--there were clearly well beyond that. It was ON! Let the REAL partying begin! Bottles of Grey Goose, which had already been passed overhead, came even faster and more furious. Unfortunately, our time was up and we had to head out. As we left the club there were still boatloads of people trying to get in. UNREAL! Our cameras couldn't capture it all (see photo at left). We heard that the following night (Thursday, January 10th) Swizz Beats threw yet another birthday soiree for Mashonda at Tommy Hilfiger's Denim Store. The attendees were even more select, and the photos were snapped by the renowned Johnny Nunez --2 parties in one week? That's a LOT of love Mashonda...HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!

Ice T & Coco Sitting Pretty with Dell for the Holidays

Well it seems that The Quest for "it" inbox runneth over with HOT holiday invites!  We missed the EXCLUSIVE XPS One Dell Launch Party, hosted by supermodel Karolina   Kourkova, held on December 6th at Armani Casa; however, one thing we didn't miss is this lovely lil shot of famed rapper turned actor/entrepreneur Ice T along with his buxom beauty, spokesmodel wife, Coco at their own recent Dell Holiday event.

Apparently, the very photogenic twosome were in town as part of a Dell Holiday promotion, along with other big named celebs,* for photos with consumers.  What for? The site is an interactive, personalized, wish list that helps consumers finally get the gifts they really want for the holidays via personalized video messages persuading friends and family to chip in on a gift.

There's no stopping America's love for denim, and there's definitely no stopping the celebs love for denim. As we mere mortals scout out the hottest in designer denim, no doubt to look our very, very best, celebs like Victoria Beckham and husband David Beckham rock these denim looks with ease.
