Depression*** has a universal dimension, but if a person is black and gay, his chances of getting treatment is not as strong as his white counterpart. You Are not Alone, is a documentary film that addresses the frequent issue of  depression in black gay men. DBGM (Depressed Black Gay Men) , a New York based organization that has produced You Are Not Alone is  breaking a taboo, and speaking out about this depression and how these men have coped and survived.

TONIGHT: Walter Mosely's & France Luce-Benson's One Act-Plays Premiere at Crossroads Theatre Company

Crossroads Theatre Company (Marshall Jones, III, producing artistic director), one of the nation's premiere African-American theaters, will present the world premieres of two one-act plays as its Season Finale this May: the powerful drama White Lilies, by best-selling novelist Walter Mosley, and the adult comedy The Talk, by France-Luce Benson. Previews begin on Thursday, May 9, and Friday, May 10; the plays open on Saturday, May 11, and run through Sunday, May 19, at Crossroads in New Brunswick.

Kris Kross Member Chris Kelly Dies at 34

If you remember the early 90's hip-hop duo Kriss Kross fondly you are not alone. The then pre-teen rappers, known for their hit single "Jump'' as well as their fashion forward trend of wearing their clothing backwards, made a lasting impression on most of country.

It has been reported from our best source that Chris Kelly " one half of the duo aka known as Mac Daddy was found dead in his Atlanta home on Thursday, May 2nd. A possible drug overdose is suspected but not confirmed. Chris Smith, the remaining member has not be reached for comment as of yet. Click here for more.

EXCLUSIVE: Mini-Q &A: Nile Rodgers at We Are Family Honors Sting & Trudie Styler

Nearly a week ago Thursday, we were fortunate enough to speak with the legendary Guitarist/Music Producer Nile Rodgers at a very special event--We Are Family Foundation Honors Sting & Stlyer at Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom.   Rodgers, Best known for this years with American Funk/R8B band Chic. Rodgers' vision, talent, and ability to garner the hottest musical collaborations (think Bowie, Duran Duran etc. in the 80s; Pharell, Daft Punk etc today) are phenomenally inspiring.

Rodgers' warm aura and love for music radiated this night and his enthusiasm for the evening's festivities was evident. Rodgers founded the non-profit We Are Family Foundation in 2001 in the wake of September 11th. Its mission is dedicated to the vision of a global family by creating and supporting programs that inspire and educate people about mutual respect, understanding, and appreciation of cultural diversity – while striving to solve some of our biggest global problems at the same time. Read on....

TW:What Makes This Year Different than any other year?

NR: "Well this is sort of the first time that we've done THIS. Normally, we have our big gala which is a seated dinner. Tonight, we're doing this almost as a make-up because what happened with Hurricane Sandy, it blindsided our normal gala, and then Adam Lambert filled in, and a lot of people had paid for Sting tickets, and we're very honorable people so  we said whoever paid for Sting tickets can come in free.  So we're just doing this as a special event because Sting and Trudie are amazing people, they're like family to us and we want to honor them."


TW: How Long Have you known Sting? How far back does this relationship go?

NR: "Oh my God, I've known Sting....I think we first met at a concert in 1979 or 80, Sting and I were together when I saw the Spoons that introduced me to a group call INXS which was around the  time when I did Bowie and Duran Duran which was around 1981 or 82."

What Can We Expect to Hear Tonight?

NR: "Really great music that's what we do."

TW: Any Collaborations?

"Yeah, no, we're going to have a collaboration of two if not three numbers with
Sting and Sam Moore who was just at the White House, and I play with Sting all the time,  so this like playing with my brother."

Where do you reside? Are you in New York or LA? Are you a New Yorker?

"New York, I was born in New York. I'm a New Yorker. Can't you tell from my accent?"... (smiles)
