Laurel showed at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin on Thursday, January 17 th at the Brandenburg Gate. The Laurèl Fall/Winter 2013 collection has taken modern architecture as its primary inspiration. Just as buildings serve people as homes, clothing fulfills the same function for the body. It provides a sheltering space in which we feel at ease, while also acting as a backdrop for us to present our personalities. Fashion is thus transformed into a language, a means of expression.
The search for a language of forms with relevance to the modern age is also the driving force behind the work of architect Zaha Hadid, whose futuristic urban worlds were the inspiration behind the Laurèl collection. It takes the Laurèl Woman on a fashionable voyage of discovery. The title "MOONWALK" symbolizes the view of these new urban worlds; assured, yet light and playful, almost dancing, the Laurèl Woman*** takes her steps through this new world.
