Though today, the FINAL day of London Collections: Men A/W13 is under way, there's a bit of catching up to do. Over the last few days, amazingly fresh menswear collections have been viewed. Three days of shows bring an array of London's brightest emerging talents, British Heritage brands, and international names.
Noteworthy collections so far include: Alexander McQueen, Topman Design, Vivienne Westwood MAN, Jonathan Saunders, CP Company.
On Day 1 Topman Design showed its relaxed layered looks are straight forward no-nonsense sleek menswear at its best. Primarily, well crafted looks for the city much of the outwear is ideal for the slopes. Colors range from off-white to navy and burgundy with splashes of orange mixed in.
Vivienne Westwood MAN was among the shows on Day 2. The A/W13 Collection is inspired by David Attenborough's documentary 'Frozen Planet". With a focused on climate change and the environment. Head Designer Andreas Kronthaler explained, 'My design has been printed on a t-shirt provided by sustainable manufacturers, ANVIL. The ‘Tree-shirts’ will be sold exclusively through YOOX.com on a worldwide level and in our Milan shop during menswear fashion week with all proceeds to be donated to the GreenUp! fund, helping to re-plant trees in Europe’s worst affected regions." On the runway were denim, fur and shearing collared outerwear--brilliant.
