EVENT OF THE WEEK: The InterContinental New York Barclay Holiday Vocal Arts Celebration Schedule

Get ready! The InterContinental New York Barclay is holding its fourth annual free live lobby holiday choral arts program, which has evolved into the most comprehensive among New York City hotels.  The wide array of choral and vocal ensembles from around the New York Metropolitan area includes the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts Chamber Chorus, The Big Apple Chorus, The Renaissance Street Singers, Khorikos and Melodia Women’s Choir, among others.

The performances take place weeknights from December 4 through 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Join us in celebrating the sounds of the season in the elegant grandeur of the InterContinental New York Barclay grand lobby at 111 East 48th Street, between Park and Lexington Avenues.

Delicious small plates and sweets prepared with natural, organic and local ingredients, and an eclectic array of Calvados and organic cocktails are available at the Barclay Bar & Grill providing the perfect accompaniment.

December 4- The Canticum Novum Singers
Chamber choir which achieves national and international recognition for its stylistic versatility, vocal blend, and expressive range.

December 5- Big Apple Chorus
“Extraordinary group of ordinary men” with New York attitude, love of Broadway, in its 26th year.

December 6- Holy Trinity Select Choir
High school ensemble performs classical to pop music, have appeared at Radio City.

December 7- PS 150 Select Chorus
A premiere New York young person’s chorus

December 9 - Harmony Celebration Chorus
Female a capella group singing four-part harmony, barbershop-style.

December 10 - The SymphoNY Chorus
Choir with a passion for sacred and holiday music.

December 11 – Downtown Glee Club
Perpetuates the tradition of male choruses promoting awareness
with singing from and preservation of the "Great American Songbook".

December 12- New York Choral Society Chamber Singers
Promotes the art of choral music for smaller ensembles performing first-class chamber
chorus repertoire.

December 13– The Renaissance Street Singers
Performing of 15th and 16th century sacred music.

December 14– Harmony Celebration Chorus
An exciting women’s ensemble who sing four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style.

December 17– Seventh Heaven
Eclectic vocal quartet presenting holiday music in a variety of styles from traditional to barbershop to renaissance and beyond.

December 18 - Melodia Women’s Choir
Melodia performs rarely heard music for women’s voices in many different styles, and nurtures emerging women composers.

December 19–Frank Sinatra School of the Arts Chamber Chorus
A group of 25 singers performing a cappella ensemble music from FSSA founded by Tony Bennett.

December 20– Big Apple Chorus
“Extraordinary group of ordinary men” with New York attitude, love of Broadway, in its 26th year.

December 21- Khorikos
A cappella ensemble dedicated to distinctive interpretations of musical works ranging from medieval polyphony to contemporary sound sculpture
