Cult Finnish fashion brand Ivana Helsinki presents a new design collaboration with Maja Ivarsson, singer-songwriter best known as lead vocalist of indie rock band The Sounds. Maja has designed a range of unique t-shirt prints for the Ivana Helsinki Spring/Summer 2013 'Mourning Sun Motel' collection.
Maja Ivarsson's style fits perfectly with Ivana Helsinki's Slavic rough melancholy and pure Scandinavian moods. Ivana
Helsinki designer Paola Ivana Suhonen describes Ivarsson as the epitome
of the Ivana Helsinki girl; a girl who loves dark vast forests, crummy
motels, a champagne state of drunkeness, fragile butterflies and
lullabies.
Ivana Helsinki first worked with Ivarsson through styling her on stage and she soon became a devoted fan of the brand.
"I
just drew what I wanted to draw, just things that pop up in my mind,
pics you see or take when I'm traveling etc. Sounds stupid but I can't
explain inspiration. But they look so good! I love it!" Ivarsson says of
the collaboration.
Prices for the collection start at $98.00. The t-shirts will be available December 2012 from the Ivana Helsinki Online Boutique.
