Haute Couture Dog Fashion House--Couture By Sophie Launches!

Jane's Birkin. Michael's glove. Stevie's gypsy chic. Run-DMC's Adidas. Music artists have long contributed to the fashion pantheon. Now, couture-loving canine owners need look no further to dress their pampered pups in exquisite, memorable style. Couture by Sophie, the hottest new haute couture fashion house for dogs, is about to unveil The Icons, a limited edition collection of high-end coats and accessories paying homage to some of music's fashion icons.

Founded by doggie designer Jody Miller, a long time publicist in the music industry, Couture by Sophie is named for her certified Therapy Dog Portuguese Podengo Pequeño pup, who is her partner, muse and model. In the spirit of true luxury fashion houses, Couture by Sophie uses the finest fabrics, with great attention paid to detail, fit and the most fashion-forward trends. New pieces inspired by the runway are unveiled each season. Materials used are cruelty-free and a percentage of everything sold is donated to the American Humane Association, Couture by Sophie's charity partner. The American Humane Association advocates for children and animals with outreach, programs and research. 

"The Icons" collection pays homage to Miller's career and taps the hottest trends from the runway: fur, leather, denim, exotics and metallics. The personalities of the fall coats reference these iconic music stars: The Jennifer (stunning croc embossed patents and opulent fur), The Cher (baby zebra exotics, studs), The Cyndi (exquisite neon fur, dazzling silver metallics), The Whitney (rich gold metallics, luxurious fur and pottery orange Ultrasuede ), The Britney (denim, apple green Ultrasuede, faux python-remember the MTV Awards?), The Sid (buttery black vinyl and studs, studs, studs) and The Elvis (silver, baby).

 

Miller explains, "This debut music-inspired line by Couture by Sophie is my whimsical way of paying homage to my many years working in the music industry with some of the most influential artists to date. It is so thrilling to be presenting our first season of fabulous looks during Fashion Week and be able to bring them to retail this fall. Sophie and I couldn't be more excited."
