Hello!
The old cliches of diamonds are a girl's best friend, or in more recent decades, a diamond is forever are two of our favorites. Who would not love a beautiful crystal clear, exquisitely designed diamond on their hand? The slowing economy need not keep one from not at least considering the possibility of owning what could easily be one of the most accessible investments of a lifetime. Where does one go for quality, uniqueness and personalized service (with a family touch) in the diamond business? In New York City many are turning to Diamond Club International commonly referred to by their website's name of Diamond Club Jewelry. Located in the heart of the Diamond District, this family owned diamond purveyor provides unparalleled selections of quality diamonds at reasonable prices. Whats more, styles and settings can be customized to one's specifications at ease without the hassle of exorbitant pricing, or unusually long delays of time. We spoke on this very topic just a few weeks ago to Diamond Club International's John Magzalcioglu who shared his take on the diamond industry, and what makes his diamonds in particular, such a rare find.
How
long have you been involved in the Diamond business, and what are the demands
and or challenges you face in such a luxury industry given today's
economy?
I'm in this business as long as I've known myself meaning--it's a family business. My father did it, his father did it--actually almost all my family on my father's side is in this business. So this is where I grew up. And I always worked with the best. This is how I learned the business. There are very talented artists in my family--artist is what we refer to the jewelers as.
The biggest
demand on our business is for bridal jewelry--wedding bands and
engagement rings because everybody needs them. Everybody
is rearranging their budget according to their situation of course.
Economy definitely effects us, people think twice now when they spend their
money.
What is the marketing strategy for Diamond Club Jewelry? Where can we expect to see your brand this year...anything BIG planned?
Certainly our goal is to be the next big name in jewelry. David Yurman, Jacob the jeweler and many other big brands came out of where we are now, so we have a very aggressive advertising strategy. We are trying to be involved with every possible opportunity. We are cooperating with a lot of people on a lot of different projects.
