The Passing of Kanye West's Mother, Dr. Donda West

It is with much regret that we report the passing of hip-hop superstar Kanye West's mother, noted scholar Dr. Donda West.  Dr. West known for her long academic and writing endeavors was  said to have passed away on Saturday, September 10th from unconfirmed causes stemming from a surgical procedure.  Dr. West a staunch and steadfast supporter of her son's career was the author of Raising Kayne: Life Lessons From the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star, a book about her son's rise to fame in the hip-hop industry.

We wish as always when tragic happenings occur, to remember the mother and son in happier times (see photo at left). Our sincerest best wishes to Mr. West during these difficult times.
